Hi all
a mates 2000 306hdi with 130 thousand miles on has all of a sudden decided to play up. It will turn over for ages until battery flattens without startin when we bumped in down a bank it chugged away for maybes 20metres then fired up. All was ok until about 5miles later it cut out then started straight back up. Now every day it has to be bumped and if turnes off for say 10minutes its back to square one it wont start. Any ideas of things I could check
thanks

The pressure regulator on the HP pump gives trouble on these engines, it held on with two screws, you should be able to get one on ebay for not to much money. You really need the fault codes read to be sure but I have had this problem on a C5 and that's what it was.

Hi, well scanned for codes yesterday and got p0230 fuel pump relay malfunction. Could this be fixed by some one like me who isnt really mechanically minded or is it a garage job.

like i say the p0230 will be down to the lift pump in the tank which is nice and esey to do

lift drivers side rear seat, lift fabric flap, pull black disk out undo pump then with rags and towels covering car lift pump out and replace, remembering to aline the markings on the tank and pump.

but it could be the brown relay next to the battery pull that out and inspect the pins
