Issues with 'Anti Pollution Fault' after deFAP

Hello,
I posted on the forum a while ago and got some great help with the deFAP process. I have removed the physical filter and proceeded to use ECU safe and galletto to remove the FAP element from the ECU. Everything appeared to work ok for a few months and then to my surprise a got a Engine Antipollution Fault light. Since then it has been coming on more and more regularly. When the light comes on it goes into the dreaded limp mode. Interestingly when I start the car again the light comes on but it doesn't go into limp mode ....until the next time. This left me with a minor annoyance on about 1 journey a month which was annoying but liveable. Unfortunately this situation has got worse and now the light comes on after every journey putting me into limp mode almost all the time.
After some digging (thanks Doggy) I suspect my problem is something to do with the vacuum system. I don't have PP2000 so cant pinpoint the issue so am hoping someone may have been experiencing similar problems and can offer advice on possible causes and fixes?
I actually took a brief look this afternoon after some research and I couldn't see the 'swirl flap' changing position at all on starting the engine and revving past 2000rpm. The mechanism looked to be functional, I could manually push it backwards (although covered in oil/tar) so it would suggest to me that possibly the swirl capsule/actuator thing may be faulty (loss of vacuum) which seems to be a common fault and would, although I don't want to jump to conclusions
Can anyone shed any light for me, suggest what I should do next?
Is there a step by step guide to replacing suspect parts of the vacuum system?
Thanks, would really appreciate some help!
btw I have a Peugeot 406 coupe 2.2HDi 2003 and live in Windsor, Berkshire
