Peugeot Mechanic near Yeovil needed

Hi, can anyone recommend an experienced independent Peugeot mechanic near Yeovil, Somerset who would be able to fit a cambelt kit and water pump, and possibly a clutch at the same time? It's for my 1998 1.9TD 406. Cambelt was replaced at 69k, car has now done 84k, but I don't have a date for when the cambelt was last done, so as the car is now 16 years old I guess it would be wise to get it done again now.

The clutch is super heavy, is there any saving to be made in terms of labour by getting the clutch replaced at the same time? I replaced the cable, which helped, but it is still heavy, doesn't slip at all, but if it makes sense to get it done at the same time as the cambelt then I will.

Is there anything else that I should get done along with the cambelt? Other posts have mentioned crankcase oil seal?

Any comments gratefully received, cheers, Ben

I know a couple of good mechanics in the Marshwood area of Dorset, they are not specifically Peugeot but I am sure at least one would be prepared to do the job. I do my own cars but can't take on any additional work. If you are interested I will enquire.

The cambelt shouldn't be a problem but the clutch will be expensive. Try oiling the shaft that goes into the gearbox bellhousing where the cable is attached, it can seize.

Cheers guys, will check the Glastonbury one out. There's one in Yeovil called Eastside Garage, will give them a call too. I bought a 406 donor car today, I'm taking the leather and alloys from it and will break the rest for parts, so if anyone needs any bits just let me know, it's a 1998 exec 2.0 hdi estate in silver.
