had a look through some of the threads and cant seem to find the answer,

I have a t reg 406 hdi and have managed to fix all the ele probs except this one, when I am driving I the radiator fan wont kick in, to have to drive around with the heater on full,

does any one know what I need to connect to, to test if the fan is knackered, Ie where do I run the wires from on the battery to test it, as if I know the fan is running when live, I know the prob is some where else,

cheers

There is 2 resistor type sensors to the right of the fan as you look at it. Check to see if they have corroded and fallen apart. Happened to mine and they work a treat after replacing them both quite cheap on ebay.

Also check the relays inside the long box next to them, if your ac works the fan should come on or you can pull the wire from the temp sensor on the side of the block underneath the vacuum pump and the fans should come on full speed think its a green plug

Ah, that's the D8 set up, two fans run in series for low speed & parallel for high. The relay connections have a habit of corroding and the brushes can wear out in the fans.

My fans looked ok too, the brushes were worn out on both though. Pull the relays and see what the connections look like. Check for power if you have a multimeter.
