egr delete
Hi can anybody body who has had egr deleted give me any recommendations for reliable people to use
If it doesn't fit you need a bigger hammer
Re: egr delete
If you're not able to do it yourself. I used OMG Tuning and can't recommend them enough.
Re: egr delete
Assuming you have an EDC15 ECU you can flash it yourself with a Galetto 1260 and save a few quid, OMG and HDI tuning will both do a non-EGR map for you and they both do an email the map to you service.
They will probably both tell you that you don't need to blank the EGR afterwards but personally I'd do it anyway so you know the valaves not stuck open and the joints are air tight. If you blank at the EGR end it reduces the chances of any nasty emissions leaking and finding their way into the cabin and makes it virtually impossible for an MoT tester to spot the blanking plate.
If you're not sure on the ECU type pop it out and have a look, it should be written on it.

Hi thanks for the offer, I'm in Preston Lancs. I'm in engineering so I can make and fit my own blanks, its the mapping I don't now much about, thank again

As an alternative, you can remove the EGR and the pipework at the inlet end and blank them both off - you will need 3mm minimum thickness plates - but keep the heat exchanger / water pipes in place.

It's just that I don't like clutter if it's not doing anything useful I get rid of it

I'm much the same, but I'm also an 'out of sight - out of mind' kinda guy too....
The heat exchanger can be bypassed using the water pipes from a 2003/2004 2.2Hdi which don't have the exchanger on the EGR, and I guess there are other variants that don't have the exchanger either..?

Re: egr delete
Thanks you also advised me on the pipework for getting rid of the air doser. Engine bay will be nearly empty by the time I've finished

There is a new debate on the toupe forum regarding the removal of the swirl valve too, on the 2.2Hdi.....binnzy wrote:Thanks you also advised me on the pipework for getting rid of the air doser. Engine bay will be nearly empty by the time I've finished
