Hdi 90 and 110 Campbell kits the x compatible?

Post by joekellner »

Hi. As the title says, are they x compatible? About 3 months ago I purchased a 2002 hdi 110 and it turns out it's a bad egg lol. Since buying it, it has developed a diesel leak on the hp pump, play in the steering, power steering leak, gearbox leak, turbo on its way out and anti pollution light on. So I've surrendered and but a 2003 hdi 90 with full most, tax till Sept and he said it drives as it should with no rattles or bangs. I am asking this question as I bought a cambelt kit for the 110 but am wondering if I can use it for the 90. Thanks.

Off the top of my head I would have said they were the same, the Haynes manual doesn't differentiate between them but when I had a look on ebay they seem to be engine specific, I can't imagine what the difference is but I'm sure someone will know.

Sorry to hear about your car problems, I have an Hdi estate with 226,000 miles on it and nothing major has been replaced. I did have to replace the HPdiesel pump on my C5 though and got one off ebay for about £50.00. Never known a turbo fail on one either unless its been run out of oil - or its never been changed.

It might be an idea to take the belt off and compare it if you can afford the down time.

I thought that might be the case but didn't want to be responsible for misleading information. :?

Ok that's fantastic thanks. Saves me having to buy another. Yeah it's been nothing but trouble. The mot expires on Fri so I figured I'd play it safe and not put it through mot. I'm hoping this new one with only 125,000 on the clock will be a lot more reliable and economical as my current one averages 23mpg through the town lol.
