Ive read up on it all and it all seems to point to the MAF, which was my first thought anyway.
Having unplugged that, I cant feel any noticable difference whatsoever, it still kicks in at around 3k revs. Im sure I can hear it spooling, it just doesn't seem to be doing anything till then.

Next thought was boost leak, but then it wouldnt kick in at 3k either, would just be slow.

Anything im not looking at?

MAF would be my first call too...

Boost leak is possible, also the turbo electrovalve could be faulty, MAP sensor / pipe faulty, split lower intercooler pipe, vacuum pipe dropped off somewhere.....

Do the pipes leading to and from the intercooler go firm when you rev the engine?

Is there someone local with PP2000 to do a diagnostic to point you in the right direction?

You should notice a definite difference when unplugging the MAF. If it feels the same then it's almost certainly broken I would think.

Not Sure on any one local with pp2000. Half tempted to but it myself tbh. I have a few things need doing with it.

I'll do a thorough boost leak check over and a maf clean when I do the service this weekend. Hopefully that will shed some light on it.

My experience is that the MAF gives those symptoms but last time it happened when I removed it I noticed oils all over the sensors, I cleaned it with some carburettor cleaner and its been fine since. Don't touch the sensors they are very delicate, just spray them with the cleaner, may save you a MAF although I replaced mine with a very cheap seconhand one off ebay and that worked fine too.

Thanks I'll get some carb cleaner on it asap and see if that improves things. When you say you had a cheap maf off eBay, I assume as it was second hand that it was genuine rather than Chinese?
I suppose the risk you run in that is that even with genuine used parts, things like a maf are hard to determine as "fully functional" at the point of removal.

Yes, it was a secondhand but genuine one.

You may get a decent quality budget one from Europarts, My friend got one and it works fine....

2nd hand maf was no good, 2nd 2nd hand maf was perfect. Night and day.
Getting refund on the 1st and second only cost me a tenner from local breaker. Was off mega low mileage car.
