Hi, does anybody know if the above can be fitted from another model ie HDI or even citroen? I am refusing to pay the silly money people want for the entire system but need a master as the top reservoir fitting snapped off. It's currently bonded back on with chemical metal but I'd like to change it sooner or later.

That's pretty specific to D8s with a ML5 gearbox, I think you'd need to change the pedal cluster and brake m/cylinder (or maybe just the reservoir) as the clutch hydraulics use the same reservoir.

Used ones do come up on ebay from time to time but you might have to be patient, I guess that depends how good your repair is...

DOH!!!! Ha ha it seems everything on this car is quite specific to the 2.1td. I rang possibly 10 local scrappies for a crank pulley and non had one. Lots of ' do you mean HDI mate'. .......

Not quite but it's bad enough - 2.1td and 2.0 (petrol) turbo have the same gearbox & hydraulic system, the V6 hydraulics seem to be somehow different despite having the same 'box.

Just checking the new price - 185 quid??

Yup they ain't cheap. Once air is in the system you can't get it out either as there is no bleed point. I have done away with the original pipework and replaced it with translucent nylon pipe with a plan on fitting a valved tee for bleeding.
They are on ebay for a reasonable £137

I did some investigating on whether it would be possible to fit the hydraulics from an HDi a few years back - viewtopic.php?f=1&t=10115&p=90142&hilit=slave#p90142

Basically, there are too many unknowns without actually doing it :(

Loads of these sort of things on the bay - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Universal-Mot ... 3a919d27ec so the reservoir shouldn't be a problem, unless it proved necessary to change the m/cylinder because the pedal box is different...

Cheers for the links Steve, I shall continue the investigation. Looks like the slave cylinder, pipework and reservoir can be replaced, just the master (without changing pedal box etc...)

Just looking at the diagrams for the two systems, I know the clutch fork, housing etc. is supposed to be the same but the slaves look a deal different, the sealed system seems to have an extension rod on it while the later doesn't. The trouble with the diagrams is they're pretty generic, I wouldn't go by any of the drawings, but that pushrod, hmm... Maybe the later slave doesn't need it, maybe I'm talking out my... :frown:
