Xud9 alternator belt replacement

Hi all,
Alternator belt broke on the motorway a few days ago.

is it easy to check the condition of the cambelt before the alternator belt is fitted? I was told the cam belt was changed last year, but a shredded alternator belt makes me doubt it.

Ďoes anything else need replacement whilst the alternator belt is changed?
