High temp liquid gasket?

Post by fattail95 »

Hi guys,

When I originally put my EGR blanking plate on my 110, I did not use any liquid gasket stuff. Now I've noticed there is some oily sooty residue around where the blanking plate is inserted, just before the intake manifold. I'm getting a new intercooler metal pipe to remove the air doser (courtesy of gumby), and would like to redo the blanking plate job this time with the liquid gasket.

Is this the right thing? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Instant-High- ... 53ebf31d2d

Many thanks!

I'm sure it will do...

When I fitted the Nicopipe to my 406 I used Hylomtyte Red :arrowd: - I also used it on the EGR blanks, both ends and there is half a tube left.... :cheesy:

I hope you discover the potential extra boost when the air-dosers have been binned, they just seem to pi55 oil out everywhere....

I'll use that instead then! I've defo got a boost leak as my turbo pressure is 200mbar behind the reference value, and there is a pool of oil under it!
