Hi all.
Thought its worth an ask before ordering any part's.
The aux belt tensioner on my 207 sounds 'a bit moody..
So I've been looking up replacement's on the web..
Euros is showing two options .. just the wheel or the whole thing..
Does the wheel part actually come off..
Full unit is 70 notes and just the wheel. Is 16 quid..
Jasper is doing a service on it .. so I might as well get this aux belt thing sorted..
Thrust bearing as started to sound moody too...looks like I've bought a pup

Ah rite..
They've gave me the wrong oil then.,
I will buy some more in the morning..
Euro car parts are getting pathetic for giving the correct stuff out..
I will avoid them in future..

Strangely enough Euro Car Parts have 5w40, 10w40, and 5w30 listed for your car so I guess it's your choice

No problem mate..
The 207 is a lot better., took it out on a good run over the 'tops
Its getting 41.4 mpg before it was around 29 31 I sh
Its still 'hunting a little on first start 'up. I'm not sure what that will be .. an idea's.
I'm thinking 'timing might be out a 'little...
So timing belt change is deffinatly on the card's.

I've been asking around about the idling problem you have....people seem to think there may be a problem with the timing connected with the VVTI system on the camshaft or the VVTI sloanoid needs cleaning....could still be something to do with timing belt.
People tell me setting the timing on the camshaft can be very, very tricky

Thanks .
I've bought a Haynes manual.. its very very 'vague, not much 'info in there for this engine.
There is one small diagram of the 'cams. One is locked off with a 5mm drill bit. Inlet cam.
And the other one.. a 8 mm drill 'bit' exhaust cam.
This engine is alien to me so 'I'm lost.
But I'd presume if its got a phase sensor of some sort ..it 'd bring on the Engine management light if it was out on timing..
I'might be miles out here tho..
I found something on the internet ...where someone's had a similar problem and they've used planet to do a throttle-relearn..

I see...maybe we could try the planet throttle-relearn sometime.
The timing belt book makes the job look fairly straightforward.
