Finally plucked up the courage to change my fuel filter yesterday......
I am hoping this might cure (unlikely I know) my starting / intermittent non throttle pedal response problem which has recently started to happen much more frequently.
Off for a test drive, will let you know....
You know when HDi's first came out they used to say the fuel filter should be changed in a special environment, free from any dirt or dust and the operative should take special care to limit the possibility of dirt entering the system. Or something.
I remember my mechanic was making a right song and dance over it, almost refusing to take on the job
Cars in my care:
2021 Kia Spottage 1.6 Pez Turbo Dual Clutch Gearbox Trickery
2013 Renner Twingo - donkey work
I did cover the fuel line ends with little plastic bags secured with hair bands (borrowed from my daughters bedroom! ~
I expect someone at school will remark on that funny smell of diesel fumes)
After first longish test run, it might be my imagination, but it seems more powerful / responsive, and so far no messing about on start up.....
So as a reward for it's good behavior I have at long last fitted a new OSF Lower ball joint and drop link which were MOT advisories back in the summer.
Tomorrow it is NSF drop link....
