Stuttering after coil pack change

Hi
I changed my coil pack in October due to the last one failing.

Since then I get a stutter around 1700 rpm and 2500 rpm but the revs don't drop and the speed is constant.

I have noticed that If I put my foot down it does not stutter.

Could it be the coil pack which was a second hand one?
Could it need a fuel filter change and a service?
Does it have to be plugged in to the diagnostics in order to change the coil pack?

Thanks in advance
Kris

A service wouldn't go amiss though. I don't think the coil pack needs "coding".

UPDATE DESPERATE

the car decided it won't start today

It turns over but won't fire up.
At first I thought it was the starter motor but it's turning over.
Does anyone have an ideas?

Cheers Lozz

Problem is once the coil pack is out I can't check to see if the spark plugs are sparking as the get pushed out of the coil pack.

I read somewhere that if you test the resistance on each pin where the connector goes that it should show one of them as a different reading as the others which would mean a faulty coil pack. But would the whole coil pack go at once?

I haven't checked any of the belts to see if they have snapped yet, maybe next port of call?
It could do with a new fuel filter but it started fine on Tuesday.

Cheers again

UPDATE

Well I had breakdown with home start on my insurance, (who knew)
Guy came out and said I had flooded the engine!!
I took it off drive on Tuesday and not used it until Thursday morning, surely that would have evaporated after two days?

Anyway apparently all fixed now :cheesy:

Cheers for the help
