Is it just when cold and what rpm does it rev to?

Hi there it revs to approx 1300rpm and only when cold once you move off its fine or blip the accelerator a tiny bit

That's just the car heating up and getting to temperature faster when cold, any higher than 1800rpm and you might have a problem but other than that it should be fine

MIne only idles at about 900 when cold. Something odd going on here.

If it 'thinks' the car's moving, the idle speed is increased to make pulling away easier, but should drop back to normal with no road speed.

Are you getting any other unusual behaviour?

Ohh, did not see HDI, like Doggy said it is unusual for a diesel to do that. My V6 does that to heat up but Diesels shouldn't. Might want to get that checked out. Maybe PP2000 would identify the problem

This used to happen on the 110's.

'Wiggle' the multi-pin connector on the throttle position sensor (the thing at the engine-end of the throttle cable) and it should hopefully settle down.

I was thinking it may be the throttle cable clip on a bit tight, it does make the revs go a bit funny...

Try releasing the clip on the outer cover of the throttle cable at the TPS, checking the measured value is 0%, clearing the fault and checking if you can get a smooth progression of values up to maximum, (I can't remember if it's 99 or 100%).

If you can't get the right values, I believe there are a couple of posts about stripping and cleaning the sensor, (by rwb perhaps)?
