2.2 hdi problem loss of power
Hi folks just a quick one I have a issue with my 406 2.2 hdi. It seems to have lost power under 2000 revs but it is OK after 2000rpm don't rev as hard as it did in the past I have no engine management light on I have replaced the maf sensor to no avail still the same. The switch on the clutch pedal if it's unplugged it is same if it's plugged in and just removed from pedal it revs quicker but no torque. When idling sometimes it also under revs on idle and speedo goes up to around 10 mph then goes back.down when revs come back up its strange. If I slowly increase the revs when driving it seems to pick.up fine just not when I put foot down never had a problem before any help would be much appreciated cheers danny

Re: 2.2 hdi problem loss of power
Hi Danny, I also have a flat-spot under 2K revs, I have tried different MAFs but the same result ( although second hand ones I had knocking around )
Doggy got a new VDO Siemens MAF from GSF, and says it has improved his car - there is a 33% discount this weekend ( wkend33 in the coupon box ) and it'll be yours for £74.
I may also buy one.
How does the car behave if you use the CC speed increase button, this may eliminate the TPS as the problem.

What do you mean by cc you mean cruise control. If you do mine don't have it but it has the pedal switch it's confusing hell out of me

Re: 2.2 hdi problem loss of power
The clutch switch is on all the Hdis ( I think ) as its meant to tell the ECU to reduce/increase power to aid a smoother gear change.
Cruise can be added for next to nothing if you want it.

I had a similar problem on my 2.0. Hdi and it was the MAF, but I used a secondhand one and it was OK.
