My car arrived back today!

Post by peugeot30v6 »

So about a month and a half ago I was driving along the highway and next thing I hear is the sound of the engine failing.

I was ready to sell it but a friend at work told me about a good cheap reputable garage. I agreed to take it there for an evaluation, so I put it on a trailer and much to my disgrace a 2.0 diesel Hyundai ix35 was the tow vehicle. I had to have the car repaired as I did not want to sell it as scrap.

I sourced a early model 407 V6 engine with only 56,000miles from the wreckers and bought it for the equivalent of £490.
I only recived the car back today with a more or less new engine in it. Runs perfect except for a couple of small things. I also have ordered a engine cover off eBay.

The whole job cost the equivalent to £875. Not too bad considering the time that I have owned the car I have already spent £4000 repairing it. Funny that I bought it for £3000

Here's a video of the first start up I did.
