Engine wont start - Help with global test PP2000

I got a problem with my 406 HDI from 1999. It will not start. When I try to find the fault in PP2000, I get this global test: Image

Can the problems with reading the ECU be because og a wrong DAM Number? Or is my ECU dead?

Now I can say the fuel pump in the tank gets 2.7-2.8 volt.

Not enough, should be 12v. Could be the relay or a wiring problem.

Thank you for your time. Is it a specific relay you are referring to?

I believe there is a specific relay for the pump but unfortunately I don't know where it is - hopefully someone will be along shortly who does.

It sounds fair. Can the relay be troubleshot or do I need a replacement to find out?

Yep, in the same box as the engine ecu (on later cars it's part of the ecu...)

I guess you need to check the voltage coming out of it. Wire 120 it looks like, heads off to the engine compartment fuse panel (I'll need your build code for the fuse).

They do go faulty.

A specified fuse would be very helpful. Can you get the build code from these digits? Image

So if I should test the output voltage I should meassure between wire 120 and ground?

That's the idea, yes.

The build code is the one beginning 08347 - Thursday 16th September 1999 (the 89 is the plant code, Souchaux )

Looks like fuse 25 in the engine fuse panel. Tbh I don't trust these diagrams 100% but the only other fuse diagram I have doesn't mention the fuel pump.

Btw that's an interesting range of tyres there. mine only has the Michelin energies.

Interesting moth too, does he have a name? :cheesy:

Thank you very much. I am quite busy this weekend but I will let you know, when I have looked at it.

I find it strange that they do recommend specific tires. I assume Michelin, Pirelli etc. pay Peugeot well :)
No, but it a touch little fellow. It has been there for a long time. Of course it could be dead.

I got new information.
I meassured the fuel pump relay and the result is:
- Pin 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, 9, 11 and 15: 12 volt
- Pin 4: 0,7 volt
- Pin 10: 0,94 volt

I assume the ECU is not faulty since the relay is fed with power?
I assume the relay could be the troublemaker?
I assume the anti theft thing is working since it is beeping with the key in the ignition and op en door agter trying to start the engine?
Is there any sensor that will cut the fuel pump if there is sufficient fuel at the engine?

I am ready to hear your thoughts about my thoughts :)

Try giving the 'inertia button a press'.
Have you hit a pot hole in the road or 'slammed the bonnet?.
*that's what normally trips it...cuts the negative side.... .

Inertia button is on left hand side 'suspension turret . (UK models).
But I presume ' left hookers wouid be in same area?.

I have pushed the intertia switch and achieved a click. I can not reproduce this click again - is that strange?

Furthermore, what is my DAM number? I have read somewhere to neglect a zero if the first digit is zero.
