Lower engine mount/steady

Hi Guy's,
I'm going to be replacing my clutch & dmf this coming weekend & I am planning to replace the lower rear engine mount (the one with the driveshaft going through it).
So my question is does anyone know if the Powerflex one for the 306 2.0 hdi will be correct / has anyone used one.
Many thanks DDD.

Sorry, no idea.
FWIW, it is important to ensure the standard bush is correctly orientated to absorb the vibration and handle the torque, (specially if you have come by a few extra Nm along the way).

Thanks Doggy,
Due to time restraints I've bit the bullet & ordered one figuring that if it doesn't fit I can make it fit
I'll post up the results when I've finished.

So as promised here's the std bush
& here's the powerflex one!
So the 306 diesel upgrade bush fit's But I wouldn't bother , it vibrates like a mother fxxker!!!!!

Aah well, it was worth a try
One thing though, is it not 90 degrees out? The old one seems to have the most rubber up and down, while on the powerflex it goes the other way. Although, I suspect it wouldn't make much difference.

Aww it's all Pink and that.
Shame about the vibrationage and it's not exactly a 5 min job to swap

Nah Steve,
You can only fit it in correct way, it might not be that clear in the photo but there's a recessed bit
in the bush for the joining bar.
Over on the 306 forum lots of people have commented on the vibration on the derv models but say that the + points
out way the vibes, just I can't see any + points just blurred vision
Welly,
It's red not pink

again not that clear in the photo I guess, it's about an hour maybe hour & half to change it back
just a bit pissed at the cost, but compared to the clutch swap it's positively fun

The vibes are settling down a bit, someone on the 306 forum reckon's by 6k miles there totally gone
I ain't putting up with it for that long, so I've been out & bought these today.
20160623_212855.jpg
Just in case you can't see the full picture, they cost me £71.99 & that's with discount, they should be £89.90
Add that to the £33.20 for the poly bush & I've spent over £105 just to stop my engine shuddering
Oh well on to the next job, suspension

more money, lots more money

No more vibes

,
I can let you all now that your rear view mirror SHOULDN'T be blurred
As long as I've had my car the rear view mirror has been blurry at certain revs, I just put it down to poor build quality
(Please remember my car was a one owner with F.S.H & had been serviced annually, showing only 73k when I bought it.)
Well it ain't, having replaced both the top & bottom stabilisers she is now uber smooth
Now both my old one's looked good, certainly not past it but had seen better days, showing signs of perishing.
At 14 year's old & 106k I can't complain
Just so you know you can replace the lower mount WITHOUT removing it, but it's tricky
20160625_140832.jpg
First remove the top mount.
20160625_140904.jpg
Then remove the lower boost pipe followed by disconnecting the exhaust down pipe.
20160625_140947.jpg
This allows you to tip the engine backwards at the top & forwards at the bottom enough to remove the lower mount
Chock the engine to keep it in place, then you'll need to knock up some bits to pull it in place.

Not to bad for me as I have access to my own machine shop.

Sorry that the last picture's so out of focus, getting late & tired.
Top tips, grease the hole & the bush (it's a very tight fit) & you'll need to make the puller plates out of 5mm steel (min)
& use a 10.9 HT set screw then weld two M10 nuts together to spread the load over the threads & use plenty of grease
on the threads.
That's enough of this car for now, an oil & filters change & we're off with the van for two weeks in the Isle of wight

Well done! Good description & pictures, should help others.
Have a great holiday.
FWIW, I never managed to banish blurry mirror syndrome, despite new bushes.

DDD - your front discs are not in full contact with the pads? just thinking about your upcoming towing capers.

Yes Welly

There's corrosion around the outside edges, it recently passed it's MOT with flying colours,
The tester actually commented on how good the brakes are

.
Things have been a bit mad this year, nearly loosing my old man an all
So all I had planned at the start of the year hasn't been done
As I stated earlier in the post, full suspension and brakes overhaul after the much needed holiday.

It's not a criticism mate we all have jobs that stack up and we have to prioritise certain things, to be fair the corrosion is only slight (you should see our Citroen's inner disc surface

).
What prompted me to point it out was the memory of my 406 and that
after buying it I found the remnants of a tow bar....then leafing through the paperwork an Invoice from a French Pug Dealer for front discs/pads where the previous obviously had an issue with braking with his Caravan whilst abroad.
