As the title state's
Has anyone on here ever changed a high pressure pump themselves.
If so did you de-pressurise the system, if so how.
Or can anyone out there enlighten me on how to do it, properly vs best way :supafrisk:

Many thanks all, DDD.

I haven't done it but, I'm reasonably sure that the pressure is held up by the running pump and drops immediately when stopped.
Please correct if wrong again.

I agree, you don't get any detectable release of pressure when disconnecting an injector, for example.
Rail pressure drops to zero when you stop the engine, (if you watch it on PP2k).

Biggest hazard is going to be the LP fuel loss when you undo the pipes, (might help to drain the filter bowl first)?

Thanks for the replys lad's,
Have ordered the seals for the HP pump regulator, gonna strip/clean & replace seals next w/end.
If that doesn't fix my low pressure then it's off with the pump :supafrisk: , I keep you posted.

Doggy, you might hear the screaming from your place  ,
A bit of a leep of faith but what have I got to loose, it's only skin :?

Shouldn't be any problem at all regarding pressure...remember, you don't have to release pressure to change a filter!
