Is it safe to do the earth mod on Peugeot 406 HDI?
My car gives antipollution fault and person who scanned the car said it is due to throttle sensor harness. Two times EML came and cleared the fault from the scanner, but not sure it'll come again.

If you're having trouble with the TPS then try cleaning it out.

I used to cycle two of them as my 406 ate them regularly.
From what little I know about the programming in the ECU the MAF really does have to work as the ECU will bring up an error if the value reported is too far out of the expected range (and the expected range depends on the engine speed, load, EGR position,...).

This mod is for the fault "p0220 TPS/ pedal position sensor/ Switch b circuit malfunction"
I got this from Internet:
Basically; the APP sensor shares an earth with, among other things, the MAF. One possible cause of this code was thought to be interference, generated by the MAF, on the earth circuit.
The mod is to identify the two earth wires on the MAF; cut them, insulate the ends of the cut loom and then join and extend them to a good earth point.

Don't see how it can hurt
But we haven't heard of this problem before
