Hi. Any idea what the doser valves do and can they be removed on a 2.2 hdi?

The air doser is a pair of butterflies in the air intake which:
* can divert fresh air to bypass the intercooler (this is why there are two). the intercooler is bypassed during DPF regen.
* throttles fresh air when the EGR is open in order to encourage exhaust gas recycling, and
* slams shut when you turn the engine off, this prevents run-on and makes shutdown a but less wobbly.

They can be removed but this must by accompanied by a remap as if you unplug the actuators then the ECU knows that something is up.

Search for "nico pipes" for the part you need to remove it.
