Hi All well first of all hope you all had a fab xmas and new year.
Well about 5-6 weeks ago had problem with freeze plug as per last post poured steel seal in and stopped leak on freeze plug, so good temp fix for now.
Well now to main problem went away left car at airport for 2 weeks before xmas and return and wouldnt start battery light wipes all ok so called AA, bloke came squirted easy start out of can in air duct still no start, so home relay, anyway cars been layed up all over xmas and new year, so thought have ago yesterday new years eve checked all fuses in car, all ok checked engine fuses, one fuse towards passengers seat was 30 amp blown, changed this fuse and hey presto it started,  so in my stupidity of not checking, and even AA blokes not knowing or even suggesting checking fuses, peugeot hand book says its ignition coil fuse, no wonder it wouldnt start anyway shes back to life. 406 hdi 90 rapier 228000 miles and still going. Till next time

Thanks for reply steve, my head was mashed with it all, the only thing changed as i said was 30amp fuse furthest away from front of car, and it started, about ignition coil relay, not sure if thats 100% right.
But i reckon due to all of the easy start the car now is billowing hugh amounts of blue/ white smoke from exhaust, isthis the easy start burning off or has it caused a more serious problem any advise by yourself or any other members really welcome.
Cheers
Dave.

Diesels don't have ignition coils :? There are only 2 30 amps fuses in the diagram I have, one of them lists ignition coil and injection system, so I guess that's the engine ecu. Wonder why that blew :frown:

I'd have thought the sniff would have burned off quite quickly, if it continues I'd think that was unburned diesel. Does it sound like it's down a cylinder or 2?

Hi steve, started car today and it was the same loads of white/ blue, ish smoke at idle revs a little revs between 2000-3000 rpm and still same but when oil gauge and coolent gauge upto 90 and stable temp the smoke goes and goes when driving, and when car running up to normal temp all sounds ok as before so i really dont know, any further ideas.
