Oil pressure light can!
hi guys plz help , my 406 HDi 110 2001 320k , i notice lately oil pressure light can stay 1-2 sec after cold startup , after that when i park the car about 3 to 4 hour the light comes off immediately during startup as it should be ,is this normal? or is it a bad oil pressure sensor ?

Re: Oil pressure light can!
You have an oil pressure light? My HDi didn't so I assumed none of them did. Is it clattery when the oil light is on? Without an accurate way of measuring the oil pressure your safest option is to change the oil and filter. I'm not sure if they have them any more but I've had issues in the past with the bypass in the filter jamming open, so if it's not long had an oil change you should at least change the filter.

Re: Oil pressure light can!
Apparently oil filters do still have a bypass valve inside them so yes, as above, change the oil filter.

Re: Oil pressure light can!
thanks man , i'll try that and i'll keep you posted.
Re: Oil pressure light can!
As long as you don't rev it while the light is on it shouldn't do much if any damage but I would agree - oil and filter change.
