A/C clutch replacement needed but keyed not splined

Post by Falconar12 »

Hi After a remendous battle trying to get the clutch off my air con I discovered it was not splined as most shown
on Ebay but had a keyway. It was rusted up and took me 2 hours just get it off. I had been searching for clutch repacement on Ebay but every one I saw showed splines. Even on Utube showing clutch replacemnet they were all
splined an seemed to come off quite easily. When I check compatibily it shows as being compatible, but of course
it isn't.
If anyone can point me in the right direction I would be really gratefull. Being long retired I cannot afford a new compressor.
My 406 is a 2000 with just 130,000 on the clock. It is 8E/F 2.0 HDI 110 estate. The part number on the compressor is 1135290.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
Cheers Tony

Hi Tony and welcome aboard. 8)
Your best bet might be a second hand compressor - there seem to be a few for £50 or less on Fleabay.
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

Hi Doggy, Thanks for getting back. I have just recently had a regas. Not cheap. I also am not keen on buying second hand.
[ It's me age you know ] To fit a new clutch assembly seems to be just a couple of circlips and bolt up. If I can find the right one that is.
