Left the car in this morning to get serviced.
Got the engine flushed out.
New oil
New oil filter
New air filter
New fuel filter
Handbrake tightened
Wishbone bushes replaced (front left and front right wishbones.)
And general look over.
All for a grand old price of £160 i didnt think that was to bad. For piece of mind for while.

Nice one chap, all ready for a summer's hard work.
*reminds me I need to drop my oil again, I'm still on my 'winter' oil*

I should probably think about another oil change too... It's only been a couple of months, but it's pitch black already! Damn 3000 miles a month. How often are you supposed to change it anyway?

I was told to service annually and to change the oil and filter every 6 months.

You'll probably find your oil changes should be every 10,000 BUT given the sort of use your car gets you could extend that to say 15,000 if you use good oil because your journeys are very easy on the engine.
This is where BMW's start to come into play. If your driving sensibly over long distances your oil change interval will extend and save you a trip to the dealer on the usual mileage based servicing.

There was talk before about the best oil on HDi... Any ideas what's the best one to use on the 2.1L TD engine? And how much do I need of it?
