Clutch replacement: also replace flywheel?

Post by frog »

Question: the bearing seal at the clutch side is starting to leak. It lasted 400,000 kms so it has earned its money. I will also replace the clutch while I am at it (also 400,000 kms). Is it advisable to also change the dual mass flywheel? A complete kit with including the flywheel is 200 euro more expensive than a kit with just the clutch + pressure plate + release bearing. Does the DMF wear out?

Also I am considering to replace the bottom engine mount ("movement limiter") bush, it seems to be sensible to do this while everything is open. Should I also consider replacing the driveshaft seals on the differential?
