hi all
today i went to change temp sender unit on my pug petrol 1.8 16v as old 1 is dodgy and caused me to call rac out earlier this week due to non starting . he got it started and told me to change it, anyway there is 2 temp sender units 1 goes to temp guage and 2nd goes to ecu and tells how hot engine is and how much fuel to put into njectors .
sods law ....got the wrong sender unit
as i took air box off to ease getting to sender unit i decided to open it and check air filter..low and behold 2 out of 4 screws wont move ended up cut heads off with a hacksaw and then wondered how to screw top back on lol...
best option used 4 cable ties through the screw holes and pull tight ...makes just a good seal and next time i go into air filter all i have to do is cut em off and replace with new
and get another temp sender unit tomorrow... dammed nuicance as its using more fuel than suposed to thanks to sender unit being knackered
ah wall such is life lol
