Anti polution fault will be to do with the emission controls.

A blocked particulate filter, or a dodgy differential pressure sensor (attached to the filter).

supa, your 406 is a 110 right?
then it wont have a particulate filter, or a differential pressure sensor, it just has a conventional 2 way CAT

on the 110 its most likely to the the throttle pedal sensor, but without knowing what the fault codes are i aint got a clue

oh and Welly, the differential pressure sensor is under the brake servo, not in the exhaust, they are the pressure sensors themselves

Supa's taxi is one of the late 110's and it does have increased emission controls because it only costs about 50p a year to Tax the thing.

I've got an invoice in my service history from a Peugeot Dealer for a new Throttle position sensor fitted, all inclusive at £97.00 (from 2 years ago)

Supa please tell me your car has got increased emissions control/particle filter I don't think James believes me

Welton, all 110's in the 406 are the same, even the D8.5 with a BSi and the 110 lump are the same, after 2001 road tax was calculated by co2/kgm, as yours is before 2001 it is based on cc and as your 110 is 1996cc then its in the higher tax bracket, but as peugeot made the 110 so efficient, about the only thing there any good at, the co2 is very low and if your car was registerd after 2001 it will then have very cheap road tax

only the 2.2 136 in the 406 had the particulate filter

Supa, dig out that picture of your engine that shows the device fitted to the inlet manifold just where the large turbo hose connects to it, mine hasn't got one of these and it was to do with the emissions.

i explained before this is a device that creates a depression in the inlet manifold to actively suck the gasses from the exhaust manifold back into the intake manifold when the EGR is active, it also allows for smoother turn off of the engine

its nothing to do with a particulate filter

the 110 only had a 2 way oxidizing catalytic converter

the 2.2 136 was the only HDi in the 406 to have the particulate filter

the reason the 110 has a slightly lower co2/kgm than the 90 is because the 90 has to be pushed alot harder then the 110 to go just as fast so it produces more co2

the new tax laws only came into effect into 2001 so up to then it was £110 for a year for up to 1594 cc (i think) anything above this was £175 for a year

Yes james is def right. Only the 2.2 had a particulate filter Def not the 90 or 110 bhp. I knew this anyway but whilst having my maf meter replaced today by a peugeot chap i confirmed that with him. The device on supas car is merely emmission control.
