If you would care to jack up your car and put it on axle stands, then disslocate your neck for me, and your right shoulder, you will just be able to see your rear engine mount where the off-side drive shaft is behind the engine.
Mine is completely shot and does give a bit of rocking on the engine, not good really when you think that the engine will be tugging at all those hoses and wires when the engine loads up.
Someone on here had it changed recently, I think the new mounting bush was £60.00? and a bit of labour to fit etc.

I did this job last year and it was much easier than I expected! It took me only a couple of hours and cost £14.86 for the bush (part no 180930 and called a 'flexible bush') from the dealers. Haynes tells you to remove the halfshaft and the casting to change the bush, but I just sawed through the rubber/steel bush (being careful not to cut into the alloy casting), then tapped it out with a drift. I pressed the new bush in using a home made puller (a large nut and bolt and 2 pieces of flat steel). Hope this helps.

Mollys dad, your a legend! I have a lower mount sitting here to fit to a 306 xud9te tomorrow. Cost £6.50 (from eurocarparts) for the part, non-genuine... but i dont care as im selling the car. Man in motor factors said i may have to remove the half-shaft too, but i just says that ill cut through the old mount with a hack saw.
Your post was exactly what i wanted to read.

philg: nope, no problems. Make sure you undo the bolt and not the captive nut (like I nearly did
). The bolt head is on the inside. Also, when you insert the bush, make sure you get the orientation the same as the old one. I took a digi photo before I started just to make sure. Email me for a photo if you get stuck.

With a bit of grease for added lubrication, I had no problems. It's an interference fit, but recon it requires much less force than when fitting a wheel bearing in hub. You need to make sure you start off 'all square' and keep checking until you're about 10mm in. If you have to use both hands on the spanner, somethings wrong.
