Thanks,
Paul

Awesome. One of the few motors i'd consider selling the mi for (though i'd need to find a belter to even consider that!)

It's crazy isn't it? If prices were more sensible I would have it done, and so would you TooT? Just a bit greedy they are!

Its like playing jenga. Instead of pulling a block out and seeing if the tower collapses its going for a drive and seeing if the belt snaps
Its nerve racking stuff

people fail to realise the work we actually do, if you saw what was involved in changing a V6 belt, maybe you would understand, sorry for my ranting but i hate how people fail to appreciate the work we put in for such pitiful money

That, and the fact that car manufacturers make it less and less accessible to have ANYTHING done on a car by the DYIer...

If i had a grand to use to get the timing belt done i would happly pay for an expert to do it, because their is not a chance in hell that i would be able to do it. If i did wont to do it i would have to get james to tell me what to do every step of the way and intern i would pay him via paypall for his knowledge
The fact of the matter is it just seems a little silly to blow a grand on a car that can only be worth at best a grand

Add the turbo to that... *cough* ;)
Actually, wonder what the weather's going to be like tomorrow... Rain. Crap. So much for getting it done while off work :/

I understand James - but surely it's the dealer making the money not the technician - that's the problem!!

wouldnt touch a V6 belt no matter how much you paid me

along with fiat coupe 20v turbo's and a few other's
well thinking about it if i bought a V6 then i would do the belt, but i would never do it for someone
