hello peeps
just getting my car back on the road, but something just doesn’t feel right...?
when I took it to the garage it was fine, had its power,
but when I brought it back, it just doesn’t seem the same any more.
no UMPH!!!
it had new rads and fan, new cross member and bumper, so cant see why their would be a change,
unless im just imagining it, im not sure!

the turbo sound fine, whistles away a good'n, unless it got something to do with the diesel that’s been sat in their for a few months, since December! dose that go out of date?

when I went up their I opened it up a bit, as it had been sat for ages, and cleared it out coz I left a cloud of black smoke

any ideas, or is it all in my head??

Hmmm I bought my car like that. Everything worked fine but something was not quite right power wise. Turned out to be a needle lift sensor on injector 1 going pop. Had to replace the injector at a cost of £150.

Erm... I had my ECU read, which reported this fault. Actually, check it yourself... there's a wire coming from the injector (closest to the ECU on the left when looking at it). This plugs into another one... just check that it's still connected. Maybe it got disconnected by accident?

It could of course be something completely different, though :?

needle lift sensor will flag the K light and fully retard injection timing so the engine will knock like fook

Hmmmmmm.... mine didn't have a K light on, nor was there any knocking. There was some real noticeable power loss and there was NO power after 3000rpm. I actually ran the car like that for 2 years without investigating this. However, the car did jerk a bit at around 3200rpm (90mph+) and once even completely stalled at that speed. Restarted straight away though.

It sounds like you may have a leak on the turbo pipes somewhere?
If you had the cross members etc replaced, then the big plastic pipe the goes up the back of your engine to the turbo may have been disturbed. I had a similar fault and it turned out that a bracket holding the said pipe had snapped allowing the joint to separate a bit.

Hope this helps?
