Handbrake

What could cause the handbrake to suddenly become very slack?

The last time I drove (over the weekend) it was fine. I've been holding the car on the handbrake on some bloody steep hills without thinking twice about it. This morning however it felt distinctly "wrong" when I took it off, and it's been needing a heck of a lot of travel since - 8 clicks. Compared to how it was, that's bad

I don't get it. Slowly wearing sure, but how can it get so bad so quick? Think me cable needs re-attaching?

The adjuster thingamyjigs in the rear drums can sometimes foul up I'm told.

The often need manual readjustment. I need to do this myself, as well as cure a strange rattling sound from the rear wheels.

Sounds like the cable has slipped and you now have some 'slack' in there.

Go back to the brake place who did them recently and explain it to them. Hopefully they will sort it for you without a fuss.
