Your typing the code in the keypad ok right?

It should have a red light and then when you type the code in, it should turn green. It does sound like an immobiliser problem. I had a mechnanic take a look at my car while I was at uni. He phoned me saying it wouldn't start and fuel wasn't getting to teh injectors. Turns out he didn't know about the code so wasn't typing it in!!!!!!!!!!

yeah, sounds like either an immobiliser problem or a seized shut stop solenoid

Hi thanks for getting back to me, The 406 doesn't have a keypad is there a way of testing the solenoid or deactivating the immobiliser? the remote plip is broken so just use it as a key as i am not going to pay Peugeot £185 for a replacement plip...

unfortunatley there's no way to test the solenoid on a 406 as they put a very thick strong shield in the way of it and you have to remove the pump and drill out the shear bolts holding this shield on to change it

Oh Bugger! well is there a way of removing or bypassing the immobiliser system? i have a feeling its something to do with the immobiliser.

only by doing what i said above, get a new stop solenoid and cut out the coded module wired to the solenoid and run a wire with an igntion feed to the solenoid

:cheesy: managed to get it running after 6 hours of cutting and drilling, managed to do it with the pump still fitted as the bolts came loose with the vibration from grinder.... it was the immobiliser module next to the solenoid, as the solenoid is working fine.... thanks for all the help guys.
