Probably going to be doing a radiator swap on my D8 1.9 dt (no aircon) at the weekend, any tips that Haynes doesn't cover before i start?

Cheers in advance.... :?

Make sure you've got some zip ties and a cordless drill to hand! You may need them to re-attach the undertray as the bolts are susceptible to rusting...

no need to take the undertray off, the rad come out the top, but the intercooler hoses can get right in the way

Surely you'd have to drain it first? From yesterday's experience I can safely say that draining it with the undertray in situ results in coolant everywhere even if you try to tilt it towards a bucket...

i dont usually bother to drain it, as so much coolant gets stuck in the system anyway
