Post by xplosiv »

This has been done to death, but can somebody directed me to a website that sells oil and recommend oil for the 2.0L HDi (110bhp)

Thanks,

I don't know of any websites, but mine ran very sweetly on GTD Magnatec. quiet, smooth, very economical indeed, and no undue smoking or oil consumption. It suited the engine very well. I think Millers is the other preferred tipple for the conscientious HDi owner.

There's a lot of hokum spoken about oil, even by those purporting to be experts purely because they sell it, but any turbo diesel rated SL (or whatever the diesel equiv is, I forget) semi synth of the correct grade should be fine, as long as the intervals are adhered to. Unless your driving is unusually arduous in some way you've got nothing to gain by reducing the intervals - the HDi has a relatively low compression for a burner and the oil has an easier time than in most as a result.
