keypad, problem

Post by Thedrill »

Hi all, Having some problems trying to change the keypad code on my 97 exec turbo, It will not bleep when pressing the "C" button (also the "S" doesn't bleep) using the C1C method.

Also both red and green leds are always lit (ignition on)even when correct code is entered, until it is started..then they both extinguish.

I have checked the wiring to the plug and it has no breaks, and has good continuity with an ohm meter, also have taken the keypad apart and checked for dry joints and it looks ok.

any other issues that the 406 has with the keypad/wiring?

Cheers.

Been looking on another forum and they came up with, the wiring harness by the battery has possibly got a bad connection somewhere in a multiplug.
Gonna have a look tomorrow.

once you have got it to start disconnect the plug from the keypad and you will have no further problems with it
