Look at my leaking Common Rail

When I do a fast run (over 3000 RPM's) when I get back home the car has been getting a bit wiffy of Diesel.

Imagine my horror to see evidence of Diesel Fuel Leakage in 2 places on the rail.

Could others check their rails for me because if it's normal for a bit of weepage I'll be more happy about it.

It's not pissing out, it's just seeping/spreading like Diesel does.

This bit is leaking from the pipe off the top of the rail (see the rail looks black/oily):

This bit is leaking where some sensor is plugged in underneath the rail:

Next time you do an oil change, use Castrol.

I tried Ambrosia a while back and didn't think much of it. Made the engine feel "lumpy"!!

Got to be honest Welly, I can't see the diesel leak from your photos.

Well I was just about to top it up of course  the car dealer said keep it topped up with custard, I pour it into the rocker cover.

Ambrosia is the best additive for the HDi 8)

Neil - the picters are crap as usual but the leak is there. The rail looks black and oily and it should be like a cast brass colour.

I wanted some others to have a quick looky at theirs too.

How well would Tesco Value work in its place, or is it a case of you get what you pay for?

looks more like the rocker cover gasket is leaking or the top crankcase breather pipe is leaking, if the rail was leaking then you would see it when the engine is running, if your 100% its diesel (im sure it isnt as diesel never looks like that and nothing sticks to diesel as its a lubricant) then are you sure its not the overspill pipes between the injectors leaking?

Me thinks I will have to inspect with the engine reving a bit, cheers.

no problem welly, if the rail was leaking, i would expect, after a long motorway run, to see the check engine light and rail pressure sensor signal too low fault
