That's about when they started making the D9s. If your radiator grille looks like the one in James' sig then you've got a D8 but if it's got a black mesh grille (see Welton's sig) then it's a D9

It's a D8 then. Is there much difference?
Anyway, it holds 4.75 litres - did it today with Total semi-synth. Garage said it has been looked after because when he had changed and dipped oil it didn't go brown- was hard to see on dip stick. Hope he's right!

6 Cylinders are great engines.
There is thread about chavtastic driving elsewhere, but here is a classic in my classic.
I was driving along one day on a dual carriageway when a frontera made a break for it. This was a few years ago when they were still new. This guy floored his expecting to overtake the old landrover in front of him. He failed to realise what the exhaust poking out the rear rather than the side meant. A little light pressure on the loud pedal left him behind
I once impressed a biker speed freak friend with my landy too. He was into big bikes with killer acceleration. Low range, first gear, high revs and a drop of the clucth. The old girl jumped forward and did 0-5mph instantly.
