MOT advisory Notice says Front upper (& lower joints) anti-roll bar linkage has slight play in a pin/bush also Offside front upper (& lower joints) anti-roll bar linkage has slight play in a pin/bush. Can this be adjusted or do I need new parts and if so can it be done by me or do I need special tools to do this job.

no anti roll bar links need to be replaced as they have a sealed joint on top and bottom, fairly easy job with a little knowledge front wheels need to be removed and its just a case of bolt off and bolt on,only snag is the joints swivel in their housings and require either to clamp the joints with molegrips or insert allen key into end of linkage, linkages are cheap enough get a pair off ebay for £20 ish plus p+p or a bit dealer from pug,if not confident get the garage to do it shouldnt charge more than hours labour :D

You can pick them up for around £15 from decent motor factors (e.g. GSF, http://www.gsfcarparts.com/).

They are in theory very easy job, nut off bottom, nut off top, remove fit new one and put nuts on.

However as James said can have problem getting the nuts off. They have 5mm allen key in the bolt so you can stop them spinning while you take nut off, however if your not careful you will round the allen key off (as i did) and then have to cut them off or take them to a garage to cur off.

I'd expect a garage to charge around £30 ish each to change them. as long as your careful e.g. clean the allen key hole out first, make sure the allen key is in stright and all the way should be ok.

sometimes if theve been replaced before some of the aftermarket ones have a cpouple of flats on the back of em enabling you to get a spanner on,i found on mine if you get the nut of so far you can get some good quality molegrips on the back ie visegrips
