   hi all,

today i went for a short journey and parked it back on my drive....only to find out half an hour later that the sump had rusted through and ruptured   my cars an 'R' reg 1.8 16v petrol

why couldnt peugeot use something other than crap metal for the sump????

now got 1 on order from local motorfactors cost £50.00
also need new oil and may as well go the whole hog and change oil filter too....

is there anything i need to know about taking the old sump off???? IE problem bolts or no access or a special sequence for doing it or is it straight forward as in the haynes manual

thanks again guys lol

HI,

Lucky it gave out on the drive, how the hell did that happen? (i have never heard of this kind of failure before). Do you park your car in salt water or something?

Like.... plastic? glass? wood? or maybe at several times the cost of the car, a titanium sump?
