ABS James help

Hi,
Not my car this time but another 406 owner (i have pointed him in the direction of the foum), but i need some ideas for the following:-
The ABS light comes on some times (is ther a known fault)/
Car : - 406 Hdi (not sure if it is 90 or 110)

when does the abs light come on,
i.e. when braking? or steering etc
ideally you need to get the fault codes read to find out what the problem is, theres no common issues with 406 abs as its a bosch system which is extremley reliable

Check the battery is nice and charged as i once had a problem similar to this with my ABS and i only sussed it when i was driving home in the rain one day and the the ABS warning light was flicking on in unison to the wipers coming on in intermittent mode !!!. A mechanic mate said that they are subsceptible to drops in voltage.

Check the ABS Ring on the Drive Shafts is not broken, that happened to mine.
