Adding injector cleaner via fuel filter housing?

Hi
I am just about to do a fuel filter change on my 2.1 tdi, and was thinking about putting some forte injection cleaner directly into the filter housing when I pop the new one in.
Has anyone done this and if so how much should I add for a good clean of the injectors etc. I have put in slick 50 injection cleaner into the tank as per instructions every 3000 to 6000 miles since I got the car, but having read the forums about forte I decided to try some out and hence the query :)

WOW, if your already putting cleaner in regularly you shouldn't need too much of the Forte.

I use Forte once a year! My garage pours it into the filter on other peoples cars but I put it in the tank to work over a few days.

In your case I would put 1/4 of a bottle in the housing and the rest in the tank. I don't like the idea of neat injector cleaner going through the pump I'm not sure how much of a lubricant it is.

See what the others think too.

i used to do this on my old 2.1TD regularly and never had any problem cos most injector cleaners contain kerosene which is a fuel similair to diesel ( i think :? ) . just give it a good rev to around 3500 rpm for a few seconds when you first start it to make sure that no air has chance to airlock the system :cheesy:
