yet again another STOP light topic

Post by 406HU »

First of all, greetings from Hungary :)

I own a 406, 2,1 TD 1999 and have a very peculiar problem regarding the STOP light.

One of my engine cooling fans (the other one, not the AC fan) has malfunctioned and it has been replaced. Whenever it starts on its own my STOP light turns on and it is on until the fan stops. Also, sometimes it wont start so I have to turn on the AC to cool down the engine. Because of this I have made a do it yourself switch which turns on this fan directly :)

Whats going on? My electrician had no clue what the problem could be. Also, please note that the STOP light only switches on when the fan is running, the engine is in great shape, oil level is normal, coolant level ok etc.
