Mintex brakes any good?

Well I serviced the old bus on the weekend (which is another story!) and discovered that both the front brake discs are knackered. Well, when I say discovered, technically I mean that I noticed about a year ago that they were starting to go a bit dodgy, but chose to ignore the fact in a "if I don't look at it it'll fix itself" kinda way

Anyway the upshot is I'm gonna have to change them. Now, after a bad experience with crappy aftermarket brakes in my dim and distant past, I like to buy original equipment wherever possible. But last time the [s]robbing theiving bastards[/s] main stealer charged me forty summat quid just for pads, so I've been having a browse elsewhere. This bloke on ebayis selling full axle sets (2 discs and 4 pads) mabe by Mintex for £61 delivered. D'you lot reckon they're any good?

See if you can find out the spec, they might be just the thing for track days but nye on useless if they're not hot enough.

mintex are just about the best, with ATE not far behind, i would avoid apec pads, and genuine ones are usually lucas in a blue pug box

I agree, i have mintex in mine the thing really does stop well and they seam to be wearing pretty well (~30K and still sheds loads of meet left).

Also fitted them to my last car, they resulted in it getting written off! I stopped (with 1/2 inch to spare!) bloke behind didn't, bye bye car!

Qualifying myself again: When I was a lad, in response to peer pressure (yougottagetMintexthey'rethedog'swotsits...) I put some on my (ahem) Hillman Avenger. They were crap. I went back to the shop and the geezer said "what did you expect, they're racing pads."

Although I'm thinking anything's better than the OE rear disks...
