Exhaust

So how do exhaust sections fit together?
Reason I'm asking is because my relatively new exhaust has started blowing badly round the middle. I saw underneath earlier (parked on a raised platform) and the centre box is hanging only a couple of inches off the floor!
What could cause this and what should I do to fix it?

Has a rubber mount broke or has it twisted round at the joint causing the angle to make it lower to the ground

I have no idea how the exhaust sections fit together nor how its supposed to be held to the car.
I haven't even had a chance to see what's going on under the car at the moment - damn lack of sunlight

Expensive exhausts on BM's etc are connected using flanges with a circular joint ring in between and 2 bolts either side (parallel to the exhaust tube).
Cheaper exhausts have a sort of swaged end and a belled-out end which compress together with joint paste and secured with a 2-piece bracket (bolts at right angles to the tube).

Just taken it down to National Tyres to get it up on a ramp and have a look. Seems the back pipe has split where it enters the middle box, which is why it's sagging - it's only being held up by the rear silencer and the down pipe!
Yep those muppets at sh*t-fit REALLY screwed up when they fitted it about a year ago (remember, it took about 4 visits to get a sensible-looking tailpipe!)
If I can't get it fixed under warranty (it's very very close to 12 months, dunno if it's under or over), reckon some chewing gum and some botch to hold the damn thing to the body would do?

If it's flexing there it probably won't hold long, it really needs welding I'm afraid.
