Hi,
A marine diesel engineer I know has shown me how to adjust the fuel pump on a Pug 1.9 TD to up the power and torque. The only problem is that his engine was lifted from a late 405. My car is an early '96 N reg 1.9 LX TD, so as far as I can gather it should also have a fuel pump with an adjustment/regulating screw on it.
Is this the case, or will there be an immobiliser blocking it (as some 406 TD's seem to have)? If so how can I get around it?
Also is there any other tweaks to coax a bit more oomph from the early 1.9 lump?

you need to remove the pump and drill out the shield, though someone one here has managed to grind it off with the pump still fitted

Thanks for that - I'll have a look and see if I can do it up North. If not then i'll get it into the shop at work and have a play.
