weird steering problem

Post by bloodredwarlock »

problem is when i steer to go round a corner,
the car gets halfway round the corner then it kicks me into the corner depending on the severity of the corner and i have to re-correct my steering which isn't good when cornering. Had the alloys checked when i got the toyos put on yet its still there. Kinda worrying me cause its not like i'm hammering into corners (although i have done that too).

what do you mean by kick?

is the front end understeering, the rear end stepping out?

its like it grips all of a sudden and throws me into the kerb/corner im trying to take, ok if im going to fast for the corner extra grip. its just that its caught me out a couple of times when ive just been cruising along. ive had several cars none have done it which includes a 306 sedan :cheesy: what a car that was

Weird. Is your suspension ok? Are you running slicks? :)

Does it feel like the steering is wandering a bit when you get up to higher speeds like 80mph? Mine had similar problems and a clunking on acceleration and decceleration which turned out to be the bottom ball joint. They're only a tenner each and are fairly easy to change.
