Driving home last night the low coolant light came on. So I topped up.
Today it was back - seems I have a leak
Need to check it out in the morning, downside to the V6 is the amount of engine crammed in there.

There is just so much engine in a V6 engine bay
The leak was/is a 0.5mm hole in a metal coolant pipe buried deep in the middle of the beast.
Temp repair on for now, will do a better job at the weekend.

Will do as soon as the rain stops
edit - done
One rather full engine bay
Diving in between the brake fluid reservoir and the intake there is a metal pipe that comes from the end of the block and dives round the back.
Considering the plaster was applied "blind" it is not too bad
Holding for the moment - still losing a bit of fluid, but circa 100ml for a 30 mile round trip.

I forgot the obligatory tinned foodstuffs and/or hot beverage that is required by board rules when displaying an engine - will I be forgiven ??

Just found out that editing a post keeps it out of the new topics list, hence a little nudge post so that you guys will see the pics and no doubt take the proverbial for putting a plaster on

Cheers.
It would be useful to know just how difficult it is to change that pipe.

That's a pretty neat repair considering the access
I would think you need to remove 'stuff' to get to change the pipe
Has it been rubbing on something?
And yes, you should really include a tin of something or a hot drink in engine bay shots

Don't think so, unless a small mammal crawled up there. The pipe is rigid and there is nothing touching it.
No idea why it went there.

Very strange mine is a '99 on a V plate, so should not be that different to your '00. The ES engine was retuned and revised later in the model run, but to have such a marked difference within months!! Typical French
Calling all D9 V6's - can we have a game of spot the difference.
