Hi,

I just took my Peugeot 406 into a Peugeot dealer as it has been making a rattling noise while accelerating. It turns out that the manifold needs replacing and is a common fault with these engines which are used on 206's, 306's, 307's etc.

Where is the cheapest place to purchase a manifold for a 406?

Depends what your car is really.

The car is a 2002 model Peugeot 406 saloon, 1.8LX petrol engine.

if your handy at welding you can take the manifold out and weld the insides back together

I reckon it's either that (good luck!) or down t' breakers, like.

How much is a new exhaust manifold likely to cost?

I am wary of fitting a used part after what the Peugeot service centre told me regarding this known rattling problem.
