I have just spent the las hour scouring the net for a free to download 406 estate workshop manual.

Cant find one for love nor.........well i want a free one

Anyone got a link to a free download site?

The way you phrased the subject people will assume you've GOT free manuals for download!
I'm afraid I've never found any freebies online, I ended up buying a haynes from halfrauds; you can get one off ebay for peanuts so it won't cost you an arm and a leg
Annoying thing is Haynes don't cover the 2l turbo

You can buy some off ebay for about £2 but theyre not great

Haynes = £££ then you have to guess anyway - so guessing means £££ in your pocket

As I've said before on here, I feel much better working on my car if I've got a Haynes about, even if I don't even look at it. They don't do a Haynes for that horrible Ni$$an thing I had, it just wasn't the same.

You can't beat a ratty old haynes covered in oily fingerprints anyway!

Well i find if you havent got a clue just ring the aa man make out you are too dubious about moving the car due to an issue and get your moneys worth by making em come out and tell you whats up. Thats how i diagnosed my fuel pressure sensor issue when the engine shut done several times they just stuck it on the diagnostis 5000 miles later she is running fine. Theres no excess to pay and might as well make the most of your breakdown and aa are about the best if you want someone with diagnostics on board.

Agreed. The AA were sh*t hot when my Seat Ibiza was running on three cylinders. On the other hand when i had a Citroen Saxo i was with the Green Flag and they didnt have a clue when the Saxo died all they did was drag it onto there wagon and drop me off home. Turn out the fuel pump packed in. Idiots.

AA really are the better to be with pretty cheap if you buy online and they have the technology on board and if they cant fix it at least you have a good chance of finding out the issue diagnostics machines are what all breakdown companies need on board nowadays. not just to get towed as it doesnt solve the issue. paid about £57 for the year despite 3 call outs one fuel pressure sensor which the diagnosed and i got fixed, bottom crankshaft pulley which they diagnosed and the other was a diesel leak which was loose at the injector and the tightened up and that was a year ago also they came to my home one of those instances and i dont even have home start they said it was a gesture of good will suits me as i didnt pay any extra
